In the heart of Isuikwuato Local Government Area in Abia State, Nigeria, lies the resilient community of Umuakwua. Amidst economic hardships and societal challenges, a glimmer of hope emerged in the form of the Dr. Onyinye Kay Rufus-Obi Foundation.

The Dr. Onyinye Kay Rufus-Obi Foundation has made it their mission to create soft landings for the masses both before and during Nigeria’s economic downturn. Led by Chief Dr. Onyinye Kay Rufus-Obi, an indigene of Umuokogbuo-Eluama, the foundation has been actively reaching out to communities, providing essential support to those in need.

Recently, the foundation set sail for Umuakwua Community, anchoring at the bustling Umuakwua Market Square. Their cargo included not only cartons of spaghetti but also a genuine desire to uplift the spirits of the women who form the backbone of this community.

Dr. Onyinye Kay Rufus-Obi and her team distributed several food items and cash supports to the women of Umuakwua. The tangible assistance was a lifeline for families struggling to put food on the table. But beyond the material provisions, it was the warmth, compassion, and solidarity that truly touched hearts.

Towards the evening of a bright day, the women gathered, their faces reflecting gratitude. They sang songs of peace, happiness, and resilience—testaments to their unwavering spirit. Dr. Rufus-Obi’s visit had not only eased their immediate burdens but also infused hope into their lives.

Within Isuikwuato Local Government Authority and beyond, Dr. Onyinye Kay Rufus-Obi and her Movement have continued to attract meaningful projects, fostering progress and community development.
